If I had one issue at all with the tee boxes, it would be that it appeared that the course does not move the par three tee boxes around enough-as these were a tad more beat up (divots) than the others. As someone who plays a lot of courses with hard uneven tee boxes this was a treat. The ground was soft and there was no issue whatsoever with getting plastic epoch style tees into each one of them. The tee boxes at Kaluhyat were all square and flat and meticulously maintained. The range was busy on this Saturday morning, but there wasn’t one person on either putting green both of my trips to them (bunch of internet golfers). There was no designated chipping green or practice bunker at Turning Stone, which I guess will hurt the score here, but there is enough room to chip/pitch onto the practice green near the driving range (not at the clubhouse green however). Both greens had multiple holes to putt to and some decent break/undulation. Rolling putts on both greens before and after my round, I felt that the practice greens were a bit faster than the greens on the actual course, but I’d say that with 50% certainty (anyone who has seen my “touch” on the greens would understand). There are two large putting greens at Turning Stone, one each immediately in front of the clubhouse (closer to the Shenendoah course) and immediately across the cart path from the driving range (closer to the Kaluhyat course). The driving range with the Casino in the background: There were also two (or possibly three) club washing buckets with brushes in them and towels attached to wipe down your clubs after warming up. Titleist balls, tees, and even alignment sticks are provided at each hitting location. There were five different colored and easy to see flags marked from 82 yards to 270 yards-more than enough room to hit every club in your bag. The entire right half of the range, not in use on this day, was in fantastic condition.

As you can see in the picture below, the area where the boxes were located does show some use, and my guess would be that the boxes were moved the following day. The ability to move those boxes around keeps the grass range in more than decent shape.

They set up the boxes on the far left of the range utilizing maybe half of the available space they have. The range has both grass and mats available for use however the boxes were set up on grass on this particular day. Turning Stone has a large driving range as you would expect with two golf courses on the immediate property.
